Marketplaces of all kinds are popping up everyday. Sure, I’ve used Airbnb and Taskrabbit. But to be a marketplace I use on a regular basis? You have to be special.

What do you have to offer?
Is your marketplace easy to use? I use apps like Urbansitter because I can search the job board quickly, click on a job opportunity if i’m interested, and get on with my life.
Does your marketplace solve a problem? Are valet services marketplaces? Well, in my hunt for an on-demand valet service I’ve stumbled upon Luxe Valet and Carbon. They’re both efficient services that allow me to request a valet to park my car. However, the moment a valet person isn’t available, I move on to the next app. I’m looking for someone to solve my problem and park my car.
Will your marketplace save me money? I’m a fan of of Lyft because I like how community driven they are. But during the peak of the Lyft-Uber surge pricing war of 2014 I would search Sidecar and find an even better deal. Though my loyalty was with Lyft, I couldn’t pass up a good deal for the same type of service.
How is your marketplace (1) easy to use, (2) solving a problem, (3) saving people money?
