Fitz Tepper (@fitztepper) recently wrote an article for TechCrunch about a brand new medical app called Circle Medical. This app includes everything from annual physicals to flu shots. Going to the doctor’s office when you’re sick is probably one of the last things you want to do. Now you can have your doctor come to you.
Their services cover 97% of those who have insurance through private providers. Considering doctors will no longer have to spend on office staff or office space, the savings will be passed along to the patient -- making their appointment equal or less than your usual office visit.
Another plus is that all the doctors through Circle are full-time, therefore you can choose any doctor as your primary care physician. The app also allows you to look through each doctor’s specialties, backgrounds and even what your copay will be in advanced. Even better? They are open 7 days a week 8am-8pm, so no more waiting the weekend before getting your check-up.
For someone like me, who is sick often and has had to make too many trips to the doctor’s office for simple questions, this service will be invaluable. Going to the doctor is never something that’s enjoyable, even if you like your doctor. Being able to have the service many of the rich and famous have, an on-call physician, is a luxury -- without the luxury cost.
I think this will revolutionize medical practices as we know it, The only thing left is to include those with medicare.
Co-Founders Brent LaRue, George Favvas, and Jean-Sebastien Boulanger are filling a market with a lot of demand, so bravo to them!
