Research - Onboarding process
First of all, we’d like to thank those who participated in our remote usability test sessions.
During the usability study, we asked the users to do several short tasks using a prototype of the planned onboarding process built with Figma. We used both moderated and unmoderated techniques, and conducted extra tests with pOS team members to verify the represented business, technical, content goals.
Moderated remote usability test: the three participants interacted with the prototype while they completed the tasks for the test. This test type is suitable when we’d like to check complex tasks that do not have a structured sequence of steps or where more interaction and questioning will benefit testing.
Unmoderated remote usability test: the three participants worked through tasks presented via an online platform without the need for a moderator to be present. URUT is designed to measure how satisfied a user is with the interface of the product. The other benefit is that participants work through tasks in their usual environment in a less artificial process.
As a next step, we update the onboarding flow based on the results, and run a follow-up usability test session with a few new participants.
