Onboarding

After implementing the onboarding journeys on the Partner Portal and publishing the Get Started guides on our documentation site (Hello, World!, Build a ToDo List App, Build a ToDo List App - Part 2: Extend Your App) as the next phase in improving our onboarding processes, we have published the Try Now page on our documentation. This concludes the first iteration of our onboarding project, we are now collecting feedback through user research with new partners and adjusting everything accordingly.

Module documentation

We have discussed the following  iterative plan for the documentation of separate platformOS modules (such as pOS Blog, pOS Payments, etc.).

Phase 1: Module documentation on the documentation site

Currently, the documentation we have for our own modules is available on our documentation site. For now, we will work on adding documentation for new modules here to collect them and make them available in one place.

In parallel, we always update the description of available pOS modules on our Module Marketplace and link to relevant topics on the documentation site. As a first step, we have updated the logo, descriptions and links on the Module Marketplace for each module: pOS blog, pOS Payments, pOS Stripe.

Phase 2: Separate module documentation site

While working on the new design for the documentation site, we will separate the platformOS core documentation (our current docs) from the platformOS module documentation into two sites, while keeping the connection between them with references.

  • Core documentation site: Current docs with improved design
  • Module documentation site: New site with matching design to documentation and Module Marketplace, where we publish detailed documentation for each of our modules. This site can later be extended to become the official module documentation site for all platformOS modules — regardless of the module maintainer, so pOS modules and partner modules would all be listed here and have their docs as to show all modules in one place was often mentioned as desired by partners and our own developer team.

UX

Design and Development

  • NEW platformOS Modules - Standardized module names and emblem designs
  • NEW Moving / renaming names - improved mechanism of detecting which resource to update when either the physical file path or the name property changes to avoid creating duplicates and raise validation uniqueness errors. Read more about it in the Release Notes.
  • NEW Fix deploy without assets
  • IN REVIEW Add authorization scheme based on OAuth tokens (tokens per instance) while keeping the old scheme in place for backwards compatibility.
  • IN REVIEW pos-cli - Use direct s3 upload for assets by default
  • IN REVIEW GraphQL formatted date
  • IN PROGRESS platformOS.com - New blog and blog post page layout
  • IN PROGRESS Split Scope for queries on large model collections

Improvements, fixes

  • FIXED Fixed edge case scenario of creating a User Profile via GraphQL mutation, then exporting the data and trying to import it, which was causing a 500 error. Read more about it in the Release Notes.
  • IMPROVED marketplace_releases/backup
  • IN PROGRESS If you log form or any other of those variables inside default_payload their values will appear the same.
