The founder and president of Catalynics, Jessica McGlyn (@jmcglyn), listed the five megatrends that will unleash value in the circular economy.
"The goal of the circular economy is to generate value and economic opportunity with less material and energy."

Here are the five megatrends:
1. Resouce scarcity and water insecurity
2. Urbanization
3. Empowered consumers
4. Rise of the sharing economy
5. Community reliance
The collaborative economy is great for the environment for a couple of reasons.
- People buy less--so companies make less and use less materials.
- The products people do buy must be made of quality material to be reused or resold--this limits the amount of trash we produce.
