It just got real here at Near Me. Actually, it got quite real back in July of 2013 when we realized that customers were seeking our product that we had no launch date for. It goes without saying that we ramped up the team and started to work harder and faster. Our launch date was set for December and we were determined to hit it.
In March of 2012 we began to build Near Me by way of our first client -
DesksNear.Me.
Yes, we are purposely the first client to our platform. We knew then that DesksNear.Me would be our flagship product and everything we would learn, change, build and dream of would start with DesksNear.Me.
Some call it ‘eating our own dog food’ but we’re classy so I like to say ‘drinking our own champagne’!
At that point all we knew was our raison d’être is to empower people, increase choices, and make our lives better through a shared economy.
How are we doing that you ask? Well, we’ve been heads down with clients and sales since the beginning of January that has delayed this long overdue first blog post. Forgive us. :)
Our platform provides entrepreneurs and brands with tools for creating elegant and easy-to-use peer-to-peer marketplaces of all kinds.
Our customers can set up a sharing ecosystem from sharing, renting, trading, and swapping, to re-selling, buying and bartering allowing the public (peers) to facilitate an exchange of products, places, people skills or services. You don’t have to have any coding experience to run your marketplace with us.
I ask myself every day when I wake up about the impact that I can make on the business, the team and the world. With Near Me we wanted to create a win-win solution so entrepreneurs, brands, consumers and business owners all gain from the impact. We’ll be right in the middle, facilitating, guiding the process and sharing all that we’ve learned and continue to learn as we build the business.
