People have rented out chairs at salons for many years. It's how salon owners make additional income;let's face it, just like you don't want to lose out on potential income from an empty room or idle car. Who wants to lose money on an empty chair in their salon?!
In a recent article in MinnPost, Megan Wiley states,
"Instead of cutting payroll checks, a chair-renting salon collects weekly rental fees of $175 to $250 per chair; in return, a stylist receives space, lights, water, towels, shampoo and conditioner."
Wait a minute, so why hasn't someone created an Airbnb for Hair Salons or the Pivot Desk of Hair Salons or the ...you get what I'm saying. This is a HUGE opportunity.
What if a hair company, like Paul Mitchell, hosted a marketplace for salons to list their empty chairs? They could gather insights, increase brand loyalty, and build community.
Hmm..now if only there was a quick way to spin up a marketplace...
